Get an API key
Before making requests to Skyviewor Data, prepare an API key for your application. The key authenticates requests for the data product you have access to. This guide walks through obtaining access, creating an application, and keeping its key safe.
1. Sign in
Sign in with the account you intend to use to manage your API service. If you do not have an account, you can register from the sign-in page. Your purchases, applications and billing records belong to this account, so use the same account when purchasing access and setting up your integration.
Sign in →2. Obtain access
If you are integrating for the first time, start with a trial to check whether the API meets your needs. Select Get trial in Applications & keys, follow the instructions to link an eligible Google or GitHub account in Settings, then return to create your trial application. Each user can try each product once. Review the availability and duration shown in the console before starting.
When you are ready to continue after a trial, or already know which product you need, visit the pricing page to choose a product, payment type and access period, then complete checkout. Your purchase eligibility will appear in Applications & keys after payment. Use that eligibility to create an application and obtain an API key for your requests.
3. Create an application and save the key
In Applications & keys, choose available access and enter an application name that helps you recognize its purpose, such as your service name. Submit the form and wait for configuration to finish. The API key is displayed automatically once the application is ready; there is no separate request to claim it.
The complete key is shown only once. Copy or download it before leaving the page and store it securely. The prefix in the application list helps identify the key but cannot authenticate requests. With the key saved, continue to your product’s quickstart.
Treat an API key as a sensitive credential. Supply it through the SKYVIEWOR_API_KEY environment variable on your server or in your local development environment instead of writing it into source code. Keep it out of browser code, URLs, public repositories and AI prompts. Downloaded key files must also stay out of version control.
export SKYVIEWOR_API_KEY='YOUR_API_KEY'Lost or exposed keys
If you lose a key or suspect it has been exposed, rotate it from the application in Applications & keys. A new key will be generated, and the old key stops working after synchronization. Save the replacement and update every service that used the old credential to avoid interrupting requests. Rotation changes the credential, not the access period or subscription billing.
